About the session

Four Dutch lions grace the stage at Magy's Farm; the Nick Kerkhoff Quartet delivered the most epic, creative, passionate and tight set of original music from their album ‘Here and Now’.

Drummer George demonstrates his mastery with intricate feels and groves locked in tempo, as well as a huge dynamic range, inspiring the band and reinforcing its tightness.

Saxophonist Jesse captivated the Magy's Farm audience, recreating motifs and retranslating phrases from the melody in an ever-evolving musical narrative, which drove, and expertly communicated the intent of the music.

Kerkhoff himself on bass, and Emanuele Pelegríni on piano combined to provide the textures, and steady the transitions that allowed the band to break free from constraints and explore their inner selves.

The vibe was mighty, the playing was fiery, the spirit in the room was in unity with the music.
